Key Points for DASA Admissions in Undergraduate Programs

 

DASA Application Start Date: The DASA application process typically starts after the JEE Main Exam session. 

DASA Application Deadline:  This indicated the last date to apply for DASA Application. Once the DASA Application closes then students can apply in the next year. 

DASA Round 1, 2 & 3: The counseling rounds for seat allotment occur after the application deadline.

Seat Acceptance Deadline: Once you get an allotment seat then there is a deadline for accepting and paying the initial institution admission fees. 

Special Round: Seats remaining vacant after the internal sliding in respective Institutes will be allotted to those candidates who already submitted the fee but did not get any allotment earlier.

Eligibility Criteria For DASA Candidates

Following are the list of Eligibility Criteria for DASA Candidates to get Engineering Admission in India:- 

  1. Academic Qualification

Candidates must pass grade 11th and 12th or equivalent (not beyond), from any system of education as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities. 

  2. Mandatory Subjects

For Engineering and Architecture programs students should have completed successfully Mathematics, Physics and one of the subjects from (Biology, Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science) in class 12th with minimum 60% marks or CGPA of 6 out of 10. 

  3. Age Limit

Candidates who are born on or after October 01, 1999 are eligible. So, a valid date of birth needed for verification which is mentioned in the Secondary Education Board / University Certificate or any other certificate which is valid and issued by the government authorities only will be taken as authentic. 

  4. Academic Test

For DASA/CIWG Scheme, Applicants must have a valid JEE Main Score and Rank. JEE Main Examination contains Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics in the Exam Paper. So, Students need to prepare accordingly. Because JEE Main is one of the toughest engineering examinations. 

  5. Proof of Employment

CIWG candidates must provide proof of parents’ employment in any of the Gulf countries. Because, this proof is the main difference between the students of DASA and CIWG candidates. 

  6. Eligibility for PIOs

Students who want admission under PIO category, they should need to provide a PIO card, and at least one of their parents should hold the PIO card. 

So, all points are very important for admission under DASA and CIWG categories. Go through with all the points carefully because the mentioned documents and academic eligibility criteria is needed while filling up the DASA form. 

 

NRI Admission In NITs Through JEE Main

  2. JoSAA Counseling:

The DASA Academic Eligibility Essentials 2025

The following given below are the essential academic criteria points which you should keep in mind if you are planning to pursue engineering from India. 

 Qualifying Examination

The very first step for academics eligible for DASA Quota starts with your qualifying examination. Students need to complete their class 11th and 12th or equivalent examination from Abroad. Because students who complete their grade 11th & 12th from outside India are only eligible for DASA/CIWG Quota. If any of the students pursue grade 11th from abroad and 12th from India or vice versa then in this scenario students are not eligible for DASA & CIWG Scheme. So, this is a very important eligibility criteria to keep in mind.

 Minimum Marks Required

Students must have a minimum of 60% aggregate score or 6 CGPA out of 10 in grade 12th examination. This score also ensures a strong foundation in the field that you choose. 

 Compulsory Subjects

The compulsory academic eligibility subject required for DASA scheme is specified during the grade 12th studies. It is mandatory for the engineering programs, to pass grade 12th with Physics and Mathematics Subjects along with one of the following subjects Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or Technical Vocational subjects. So, these subjects ensure that you have a foundation for these subjects for the JEE Main Examination.

Refund of Fee Payments

  A. DASA will refund your full payment in following cases:

  • If the applicant withdraws their application on or before the last date of fee payment.
  • If DASA do not allocate any seat to the applicants as per their given choices.
  • If DASA find the applicants ineligible during the application processing.

  B. DASA will refund 50% tuition fee in the following case:

  • If any of the candidate is receive a seat according to their choice and they do not accept the allotment. 

  C. Tuition fee won’t refundable in the following cases: 

  • Those students who accept the allotment, and later change their decision. 
  • By not joining or those students who do not submit required documents.
  • Applicants who withdraw application after joining the institution.
  • Applicants who were allotted seats in a special round. 

 If any of the students have not submitted their grade 11th & 12th documents at the time of application but, get a seat through DASA on the basis of JEE Main score. However, if the later institute verification reveals that candidate do not meet the qualification criteria based on their 11th and 12th-grade performance, then DASA will not consider them for any fee refund.

Valid Passport

Passport is the one of the most important documents of students and parents for the eligible application of DASA Scheme. Passport shows candidate & their parents nationality status and identity.

For CIWG candidates, it is important to show that one parent is working in a gulf country. 

Qualifying Examination Certificate

Students need to submit their grade 12th or equivalent degree certificate with all documents while filling the examination form. Students who are in grade 12th or appearing for grade 12th also participate in JEE Main through DASA Scheme. 

Mark Sheet

Marksheet score of grade 11th and 12th is required while you are sitting in the choice filling process for verification. So, the documents clearly show you completed your garde 11th & 12th from abroad. 

Date of Birth Proof

Students who are born on or after October 1, 1999 are only eligible candidates for DASA Scheme 2024. Student also required a valid government official ID to ensure date of birth.

  1. NRI aspirants who are eligible for CIWG category can also apply for the other seats of DASA as well. In order to get seats under DASA Category students have to deposit the same initial fee as applicable for DASA (Non SAARC) students.
  2.  DASA candidates cannot avail the seats of CIWG category.
  3. If any of the CIWG aspirants fill both the options in the application form to obtain a seat under the DASA Scheme and they secure a seat under the CIWG category, they will receive a refund for the remaining tuition fee.
